Hello all! My name is Jennie, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my life-long best friend Erin—an incredible mother, sister, daughter, and friend who is currently fighting the toughest battle of her life.
Erin is a dynamic, single mother of three beautiful children Samantha, Shaina, and Alexander. Erin’s vivacious spirit, quick wit, and bright light render her unforgettable to all who meet her. You can find Erin sharing her extraordinary talents onstage at the local community and regional theaters, as well as any open karaoke event. To know Erin is to love her!
In April, Erin received devastating news: a diagnosis of Stage 3 breast cancer. Since then, life has become a whirlwind of doctor appointments, education, and self-advocacy.
Soon, she will undergo surgery, followed by chemotherapy. The treatment plan is aggressive and exhausting, thrusting her future into uncertainty. Unfortunately, like most Americans, Erin has minimal paid sick leave that does not provide a safety net for a long term illness. Her basic health insurance has outrageous deductibles. The financial strain is already overwhelming.
On top of her medical expenses, Erin is not only trying to continue to provide for her family‘s basic needs, but also maintain some sense of normalcy during an incredibly scary time.
